Care pathways

Find the appointment that matches what you need

Every pathway below has its own appointment length and preparation. Choose the closest match when you request a visit — reception will move you if something else fits better.

    Everyday health

Infections, skin changes, pain, fatigue, mental health and anything new you want looked at.

    Who it's for

Adults and children with a new or short-term concern.

    First visit

20 minutes, same clinician for follow-up where possible.

  2. 02

    Long-term condition review

Structured reviews for asthma, diabetes, blood pressure, thyroid and joint conditions.

    Who it's for

    First visit

40 minutes, usually split across a nurse and a GP slot.

  3. 03

    Who it's for

Babies, children and teenagers, with a parent or carer present.

    First visit

25 minutes in the ground-floor room with a quiet waiting space.

Request a visit

Not sure which pathway applies? Describe it in your own words in the request form and a clinician will triage it.

Your first visit

What happens between your request and your appointment

Four steps, no paperwork to collect in advance and no waiting-room forms to fill in.

  1. Step one

    You send a short request

Tell us the pathway, the days that suit you and a sentence about what is going on. The form takes about two minutes and nothing is needed beyond your name and email.

  2. Step two

A clinician reads it the same working day

Requests are reviewed each morning and afternoon. If your description suggests something urgent, we contact you first and offer the earliest available slot rather than the one you selected.

  3. Step three

    You receive a written confirmation

The confirmation names your clinician, the room, the appointment length and anything worth bringing — a medication list, a symptom diary or your previous vaccination record.

  4. Step four

    Your appointment and what follows

Visits start on the hour or half hour. Before you leave, you get a written summary of the plan, any test timings, and the name of the person to contact if something changes.

Consultation rooms

A building designed for calm appointments

Consultation room three, set up for longer reviews.

Access and comfort

Step-free entrance, a lift to the first floor, two accessible washrooms and a low-stimulus waiting area away from the main desk.

Every room has natural light, an adjustable examination couch and a privacy screen. Two ground-floor rooms are kept free for anyone who finds stairs or lifts difficult, and one is reserved each morning for appointments with young children.

Interpreter support can be arranged for your appointment if you tell us the language when you request a visit. Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the building, and a quiet room is available if waiting in a shared space is difficult.

Clinical team

Who you are likely to see

You can ask for a particular clinician in your request. Continuity matters to us, so ongoing care usually stays with the person who saw you first.

Bring with you

  • A list of current medication, including anything bought without a prescription.
  • Readings you have been keeping — blood pressure, glucose or peak flow.
  • Your vaccination record if the appointment is a travel or immunisation slot.
  • Names of any dressings, creams or inhalers that have already been tried.
  • A note of questions you want answered, so nothing is missed in the room.

Nothing on this list is compulsory. Come as you are if gathering it would delay your appointment.

Before you book

Questions patients ask us most

Do I need a referral to be seen here?

No. You can request any pathway directly. A referral letter is only needed when another clinician has already started an investigation and wants it continued — in that case, mention it in your request so we can read it before your visit.

How do repeat prescriptions work?

Repeats are issued alongside a review rather than on their own. If your review is current, send a request naming the medication and strength; if it is overdue, we will offer a long-term condition appointment first so the dose can be checked properly.

Can I bring my child to my own appointment?

Yes. The ground-floor rooms have space for a pram, and the quiet waiting area is close by. If the appointment covers something you would rather discuss privately, say so in your request and we will offer one of the evening slots instead.

What if I need to cancel or move my appointment?

Reply to your confirmation email as early as you can. Slots released more than a day ahead are almost always taken by someone else, so an early message genuinely helps another patient be seen sooner.

When will I get test results?

Your confirmation summary states the expected timing for each test — most blood work is back within a few working days, tissue samples take longer. We contact you either way, including when a result is normal, so you are never left waiting on silence.

Can my records move from another practice?

Yes, and you do not need to request them yourself. Tell us the previous practice name in the form and we will start the transfer. Your first appointment can go ahead before the records arrive.

Send a short request and we will reply with a slot

Requests are read every working morning and afternoon. You will receive a written confirmation naming your clinician, room and appointment length.

Please keep this to a sentence or two — the clinician reading it only needs enough to choose the right appointment length. Do not use this form if you need urgent help today.
